Brief Biography
After hearing my Southern accent, the first thing most people ask me is, "What are you doing here?" We’ve lived in Elma for six years, hailing from North Carolina and various other haunts. Four of our six children (one in-law; 2 in graduate school) are at Buffalo State College. One of our sons (we have four boys!) is in graduate school in Cincinnati, and our oldest son, his wife and our granddaughter just moved to Chicago where our daughter in law is a teacher and doing post-doc work at the University at Chicago. Our youngest daughter is still in high school and I'm an active "drama-mama.” We have two dogs, three cats, a canary, an aquarium and many houseplants in our country abode. I've worked in the Admissions offices of Indiana University/Purdue University in Fort Wayne and ECC; and the “Office of the Registrar” at Canisius College before arriving here at the Undergraduate Academies Office. You can visit my facebook page - we can be friends all over the place!

Hello Janet, I was able to attend your event today, however, I had to leave early because of classes. I want to know if you will have more of events such as the one hosted today about non-profit organization. I also have another question regarding volunteer opportunities, are there any provided by UB Academies?

But Janet, I always have that blank look on my face. Maybe you or someone else could take a new picture of me. I'll start growing the mustache today.

The photo I'm talking about on NING is only an outline, and you don't look relaxed, happy, and well-clad - I only see ears!
See you soon,
Janet

Wow, what a way to start the day! It was taken the night I received a Lifetime Achievement Award from TIAA-CREF, the huge retirement firm. No wonder I looked relaxed, happy and well-clad!

See you later this week.

Haha, I'm actually bringing a full-sized keyboard to stow under my bed. I can't live without all 88 keys! I just wish that I could fit orchestra into my schedule this semester... But I'm sure I'll have time to squeeze it in the in future.

NY Power Authority 11.6.09

On Friday, November 6th, the Undergraduate Academies took a trip to the NY Power Authority in Lewiston -- just north of Niagara Falls.

The plant, located about 4 1/2 miles downstream from Niagara Falls, has two main facilities: the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant and the Lewiston Pump-Generating Plant. Robert Moses, one of New York's most influential planners during the 20th century, was very involved in the planning of the Power Plant -- for instance, unlike our neighbors to the North (Oh, Ca… Continue
