Hey, I heard about people in Maine doing something they called "Can Fest" and it sounded pretty cool and feasible. • You call up farmers within a certain radius and ask if you can "glean" their fields after harvest. Farmers can donate any other pr…

Brief Biography
I'm a transfer student, and will be coming to UB in fall 09'. I have tons of project ideas we could do to get more involved in the community while doing some social good and am excited about the prospects the academies may offer. I hope to become either a Student Activities Director at a University, an Entrepreneur, or a School Social Worker.

Ilya described the history of Henna/Mehndi Tattoos. Did you know that when the Henna first touches your skin, there is an instant "cooling" sensation? Thousands of years… Continue

Tuesday, December 1 @ 1PM

On Tuesday, December 1 at 1PM, the Undergraduate Academies hosted a guest speaker Dr. Sarah-Bay Cheng, from the Department of Theatre & Dance.

Presenting a new perspective on body art and expression. Dr. Cheng discussed three types of art: body art, body modification, and body hacking.

When we think of tattoos and piercings, we are first intrigued by what is drawn or done to the body. However, we have to remember, that these are pieces of expression. A person who gets a tattoo or a set of… Continue

How was your Thanksgiving Break?

Hey guys,

We're curious about the fun you had back home on break!

I had a nice relaxing time not being seeing the inside of Hayes Hall and definitely ate too much food. It was my first Thanksgiving as a vegetarian which made my mom real nervous, but she handled the stuffed squash well! I also saw my friend who is living in NYC. We haven't hung out in two years- it was an awesome time!

Your stories?
