Members of the Undergraduate Academies Ambassadors Program serve as representatives of the Academies.

Position Description
Members of the Undergraduate Academies Ambassadors Program serve as representatives of the Academies. The Ambassadors Program is a voluntary public relations organization sponsored by the Undergraduate Academies that serves as a vital force to promote the Undergraduate Academies to the University community. The Undergraduate Academies Ambassadors have a unique opportunity to educate prospective students and their families about the benefits of participating in one of the three Academies; the Civic Engagement, Global Perspectives, and Research Exploration Academies.

Are you interested in sharing your Academy experience with University undergraduates and prospective students? The Academy Ambassador Program offers you the opportunity to interact with prospective students through a variety of UB events and activities. Through the Ambassador’s program you will meet other students who share a common interest in the themed Academies. This is a wonderful opportunity to create a legacy in the Undergraduate Academies.

Reception with/Talk by with Steve Lopez

This week, Academies students were given the exclusive opportunity to meet Steven Lopez, author of this year's UB reads book The Soloist. A reception was held before Mr. Lopez took the stage at Alumni Arena. Delicious snacks were provided for everyone in attendance.

Academies Joint Seminar: RENT

Students from all three sections of the Academies seminars came together for the second joint Academies sessions on Wednesday, October 28th. This meeting was designed to enrich the introduction to the Academies while highlighting an interesting and thought-provoking topic. The October 28th joint session encouraged students to consider how theater is used as a vehicle to build awareness and explore societal issues – specifically highlighting the production of Rent. The Soloist Movie and Discussion with Professor

On Tuesday, October 27th the Undergraduate Academies and Student Life sponsored a movie and discussion to highlight the author of The Soloist, Steve Lopez. A post-screening discussion was led by Dr. David Schmid, Chair of the UB English Department.

Cookies, Cocoa and Conversation

Cookies, cocoa and conversation were had on Monday, October 19, in Red
Jacket. Shared Interest Housing Leaders did a great job baking cookies
for all of the Academies Residential community. Stay tuned for future
opportunities to mingle with upper/lower classmen!
